Health & Vaccinations

Before travelling to Peru it is important for visitors to have the right protection against diseases and to understand fully what kind of vaccinations that will be needed according to the regions which you will be visiting.

We recommend that all travelers contact their local doctor or health professional well in advance of travelling to Peru for the latest up to date information.

For people traveling to the Amazon region (Iquitos, Tambopata and Manu) it is necessary that you bring your yellow fever inoculation certificate to prove that you are vaccinated.

Some countries such as Brazil also require tourists travelling onwards directly from Peru to Brazil to have a yellow fever vaccination before boarding the aircraft in Lima. This regulation is irrespective of the towns and cities you visit whilst in Peru. We recommend you check with your local embassy for the latest information.
