Ecoamazonia Lodge
This lodge is located two hours from Puerto Maldonado; it offers a magnificent overlooking of the Madre de Dios River. Each bungalow with a porch and hammocks enclosed by mosquito screening. All rooms are equipped with bath with shower and a kerosene lamp.
Posada Amazonas
Opened its doors in 1998 and has become a major attraction for those looking for a short stay in the rainforest with the promise of an authentic eco-tourist experience. It is a rustic 30 bedroom first-class community partnership eco-tourist project that is jointly owned by the Ese-Eja community of Infierno and is situated inside the community's private reserve. Using local materials and architecture combined with modern expertise, the lodge is community built and as such is a testament to workmanship and endeavor. Posada Amazonas is a lodge owned by the Community of Infierno and managed with Rainforest Expeditions. Thanks to its accessibility, excellent wildlife observation opportunities, cultural context and comfortable accommodations, Posada Amazonas are ideal for a two night introduction to Amazonia´s richest rain forests and jungle. Posada Amazonas is located within the territory of the Infierno Community. It is built within the 2,000 hectare, private, communal reserve, which in turn is directly adjacent to the Tambopata National Reserve. To get there you must fly to Puerto Maldonado from Lima or Cuzco on daily commercial flights lasting 45 or 90 minutes respectively. From the airport you are transported by truck to the Infierno River Port where you board our boats for a forty five minute trip to Posada Amazonas. Posada Amazonas is located ten minutes walking from the river, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.

Refugio Amazonas
The latest addition to Rainforest Expeditions Tambopata portfolio. As a charming 24 bedroom lodge, it is well placed immediately adjacent to the Tambopata National Reserve. Surrounded by a mosaic of waterways and habitats and a worked Brazil nut concession it presents an ideal balance for naturalist exploration and observations of sustainable forest use by local populations. In collaboration with ANIA an environmental education NGO, Refugio Amazonas caters for families with children of all ages. Its location two hours upriver from Posada Amazonas is ideal for stand alone three night experiences and for breaking the expeditions to and from Tambopata Research Center. Refugio Amazonas is built on a 200 hectare private reserve on the buffer zone of the Tambopata National Reserve. It is becoming integrated to the communities of Brazil nut extractors that surround it, attempting to extend the benefits of ecotourism to the families that commit to the sustainable use of the forest within this buffer zone. To get here you must fly to Puerto Maldonado from Lima or Cuzco on daily commercial flights lasting 30 or 90 minutes respectively. From the airport you are transported by truck to the Infierno River Port where you board our boats for the two and half hour trip to Refugio Amazonas. Refugio Amazonas is located ten minutes walking from the river.
